Apple Arcade has launched, finally, and with a pretty impressive line-up of games that aren't filled with in-app purchases and shitty mobile phone game designs. It's like Apple are finally taking games seriously, so I thought I'd make a wee video counting down my top five games so far.
Number Five: Big Time Sports
A collection of great wee mini games with a bunch of big chunky lads doing big chunky sports.
Number four: Agent Intercept
A bare-faced homage to Spy Hunter with an emphasis on powersliding, boosting and generally looking as cool as possible.
Number Three: Assemble With Care
The writing so far has been a bit twee and but there's something satisfying and soothing about putting everything in it's rightful place.
Number Two: Chu Chu Rocket UNIVERSE
Who could believe it? A new Chu Chu Rocket game! I miss the frantic multiplayer from the dreamcast days but it's good to see an update to this classic.
Number One: Sayonara Wild Hearts
It had to be, really. It's everything I wanted it to be. It's a joyous celebration of pure arcade gaming, and every level is just short enough to make you want to play it again ti beat your score. There's everything from sword fights, bike chases, Outrun-style races and old-school shmups. Wild hearts live forever baby.
